NHA is an ADVOCATE for the Homeless, for the Economically Disadvantaged, for the Elderly, for the Handicapped and Disabled, for Local Inspectors and Building Departments, for Victims of Domestic Abuse and Natural Disaster.

NHA is affiliated with; CCHRCO (Carolina's Council of Housing, Redevelopment and Codes Officials); SERC (Southeastern Regional Council); and NAHRO (National Association of Housing Redevelopment Officials)

NHA is a self-governing public agency created by state and local law and operated by a Board of Commissioners appointed locally. NHA employs 15 full time permanent employees and part-time security officers.
